New Distribution Method: Direct Selling

Posted by Ruby at 8:32 PM
Direct Selling is a trend that has been around forever in the health and beauty industry. Brands like Mary Kay and Avon thrive on direct and social selling, and have been doing so for years. Now this trend has finally hit the fashion industry. Companies like Chloe + Isabel and Origami Owl have been built to provide a social -selling experience for fashion lovers of all ages. Both of these companies are jewelry companies but they are also two very different brands.

Chloe + Isabel:
This social selling jewelry line was started in 2011 by a fashion industry professional who wanted to come up with a way to allow more people to break into the fashion industry. What's wonderful about Chloe + Isabel is that although you are selling their products instead of your own, they still allow you to  make it your own, and really get a feel of being a true entrepreneur. The jewelry is all pretty reasonable priced, handcrafted, and it includes a lifetime guarantee. All of that being said these pieces pretty much sell themselves but the merchandisers gain valuable experience that they can take to other jobs in the industry.

Origami Owl:
This company is a little bit different because the jewelry that they sell is all customizable, like Pandora bracelets. Customers are able to create their own necklaces for any occasion. The direct selling model is also unique where they allow women to either sign up to sell the jewelry or to simply be party host.

The two brands above are not the only direct selling companies in the fashion industry, they are simply two that I like and can vouch for. I personally feel that direct selling is the new wave of distribution that is going to shake the fashion industry up and allow new people to fall in love with fashion just as much as I have.

Check out my Chloe + Isabel boutique as well:)
